A delicious and nourishing smoothie with a good balance of protein, carbs, healthy fats, and a lot of fibre to keep you energized for longer! Sesame seeds are an excellent source of calcium, among other nutrients. Tahini is a sesame paste made from hulled or unhulled sesame seeds. Unhulled tahini has the nutrients, antioxidants and fibre present in the skin of the sesame seeds.
Soak your almonds for a few hours to deactivate the phytic acid to improve mineral absorption and form a creamier smoothie. You may replace the whole almonds with 2 tablespoons LSA (ground flaxseed, sunflower and almond mix), or use flax meal instead of flaxseeds.

Strawberry smoothie

Ingredients
Smoothie:
- 3 medium strawberries
- Half a frozen banana
- 1/2 cup almond milk (or milk of
- preference)
- 3 tablespoons probiotic yoghurt
- 1 heaped tablespoon flaxseeds
- 1/4 cup soaked almonds or 1 scoop protein powder or grass fed beef collagen
- 1 teaspoon tahini
Topping (optional)
- 1 large macerated strawberry
- 1/2 teaspoon chia seeds
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
Instructions
Smoothie:
- Add all ingredients for the smoothie to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Pour into a glass and enjoy!
Topping:
- Macerate 1 large strawberry and pass it through a sieve, collecting the thick juice into a small bowl. Only the little seeds on the outside of the fruit will remain on the sieve, but you can leave them in if you prefer.
- Pour the strawberry juice over the smoothie and top with chia and sesame seeds.
